Looking to adopt a cat or kitten?
Of course you are! They are all so precious and seeing them grow just pulls at the heartstrings, but adoption is a serious commitment.
In order to ensure a good fit, you must fill out an adoption questionnaire. You can fill this out online or in person at the Salem Friends of Felines Adoption Center.
If you have your heart set on a kitten that is still under foster care, you can complete the form now and we will post the expected date of availability. Once our foster cats are ready for adoption, you can meet and spend time with them at Salem Friends of Felines Adoption Center and if they are the right fit for your home and lifestyle, you can finalize the adoption there.
When will they be ready for adoption?
The length of time needed to prepare the cats and kittens for adoption will depend on their condition and backstory. Prior to adoption, Salem Friends of Felines ensures that, after reaching a healthy weight, they are spayed/neutered and have completed the necessary vaccinations. In addition, feral kittens (born in the wild) need to be socialized before they are comfortable in home.
As each cat and kitten spends time with us, we can also help determine their individual characteristics. Are they shy? Do they love kids? Playful or laid back? Knowing their characteristics will help Salem Friends of Felines determine if they will find their forever home with you based on your adoption questionnaire.
